i think im sick

ALL I CAN REMEMBER IS ABOUT OIL SPILLS and how it spreads over a large surface area and is very difficult to be broken down therefore it takes a long time and is very costly to clean up. Like the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. oil spills also threathen the livelihood of fishermen as well as the fishing industry. When the spilled oil reaches a tourist resort along a coast, it dirties the beach and make it unattractive to the tourists. and poisons in industrial waste can accumulate in the bodies of fishes. these poisons can be passed on to us when we consume the contaminated animals. People may suffer from typhoid and cholera. Also, water plants cannot photosynthesise as the chemicals encourage algae growth on the river surface which causes the sunlight being unable to reach the plants. The animals that depend these plants to survive will also be affected. Oil spills endanger the lives of aquatic animals as a layer of oil spreads over the water surface. When animals such as sea birds and sea mammals come into contact with the oil. The oil will stick on its feathers and fur. This removes the air trapped in by the feather and fur causing them to freeze to death as the air trapped serves as an insulation. The oil also clogs up the birds' feathers and prevents them from flying or floating on the water. This might cause the birds to drown.
